Sleep Medicine Board Review (SMBR) is designed to help candidates prepare for the Sleep Medicine Certification exam which is now hosted by several member boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) (See http://www.abms.org for more information).

The SMBR service includes:

Standard Features

  • Fourteen multiple-choice practice exams
  • 90 questions per exam (10 of which are image-based)
  • Reports detailing your performance on each exam
  • Review sessions for each exam
  • Feedback regarding your performance over successive exams
New Features
  • Immediate feedback on performance (training mode)
  • Statistical analyses by content area
  • Custom exams by content area
  • Custom exams that contain only missed items

The service is intended to complement other board preparatory approaches such as review courses, taped lectures & webinars, the review of "Principles and Practice" text books and "Standards of Practice" papers.

The primary strengths of the SMBR mock exam service are that it provides:

  • a bridge between academic/practice knowledge and the need to demonstrate that knowledge in an examination context
  • a means to quickly identify areas that require more substantial review

The content of the SMBR is broadly derived from the 4th edition (2005) of The Principles and Practice of Sleep Medicine and the 2nd edition of Sleep Disorders Medicine.
