Price Reduced for 2011 from $390 to $250

The Sleep Medicine Board Review (SMBR) was first offered in 2001 and has, since that time, had more than 1000 individuals use the service. The program is based on an exam approach to learning (i.e., "the best way to study for exams is to take exams"). The exam content is based on the field's leading text The Principles and Practice of Sleep Medicine (Kryger, Roth, and Dement - 3rd and 4th editions) and provides a comprehensive overview of all of sleep medicine. Currently, we are working on the 3rd revision of the site's content. Because this task is incomplete, we are offering the service as a means for preparing for the current ABMS' Sleep Medicine Exams at a reduced cost.

The Sleep Medicine Exam is offered as a subspecialty exam by 6 member boards of the ABMS. Links for each are below. The SMBR service includes:

  • Fourteen multiple-choice practice exams
  • 90 questions per exam (10 of which are image-based)
  • Reports detailing your performance on each exam
  • Review sessions for each exam
  • Feedback regarding your performance over successive exams
  • Immediate feedback on performance (training mode)
  • Statistical analyses by content area
  • Custom exams by content area
  • Custom exams that contain only missed items

The primary strengths of the SMBR mock exam service are that it provides:

  • a comprehensive overview of foundational knowledge as well as practice considerations
  • a bridge between academic/practice knowledge and the need to demonstrate that knowledge in an examination context
  • a means for the user to quickly identify areas that require more substantial review

In order to promote a collaborative relationship between our users and the editors of the program, we offer this arrangement: If any question is found to be out of date (a thing that should be a rare occurrence for "Principle" type content but occur occasionally for "practice" type content), we will rebate the user for each question identified (for more information, Click here).
